Charles lives in Ingatestone, just five miles from the M25 and Chelmsford, the County Town. Charles, who used to work for NatWest, leads the charity from his home and can be contacted there most days. Charles was one of the Hope and Aid Direct volunteers who went to Sri Lanka immediately after the Tsunami. He also went to the Philippines to shepherd the first two of our 6 containers to their destination.

Apart from keeping Charles in check and driving the trucks and delivering the aid with him, Bev has extensive experience over a period of 20 years in the charity sector managing programmes and undertaking institutional fundraising. She has worked for Marie Curie, Farm Africa, War Child, Save the Children, Help Age International where she raised over £20m, and latterly CAFOD.

Jill has been involved with a number of Charities throughout her adult life, and served on several committees. She has been Treasurer, then Chairman of the Isle of Wight Disabled Riding Group when she lived there, and held several voluntary appointments in the Criminal Justice system and also in the community. Jill has been volunteering with Hope and Aid Direct for six years.

Roger has been working with Hope and Aid Direct since 2007. He lived in the Balkans for 6 years and as such was very involved in the logistics and organisation of some of the convoys, particularly the initial trip to Montenegro. He now lives in Sussex working in digital marketing. In addition to the trustee role, Roger is in charge of the Hope and Aid website and is part of the team that organises the Solent Coasts Cycling Challenge.

Steve Walsh

Steve lives in Cheshire. He first became involved with Hope and Aid Direct in 2003 and has since travelled with numerous convoys. He was originally appointed as a Trustee in 2008. Steve is employed as Head of Change for a large UK PLC and was previously a soldier serving in many different countries. Steve is always keen to build further support for the charity particularly in the North of the UK
